On September 26th, 2018, Mr. Davis from Ohio Operating Engineers Apprenticeship and Training Program through Local 18 came to talk to our seniors about the Operating Equipment trade. Operators use construction equipment such as bulldozers, motor graders, backhoes, pavers, and cranes. They also repair the earth with equipment used in building roads, bridges, dams, and large buildings.
Many of our students are interested in hearing all of the different options after graduation—from college, to trade schools, to military branches. The program through the Operating Engineers is a fully sponsored and funded program, and students earn while they learn over four years. At the end, they will owe nothing for the time they spent in school.
We thank Mr. Davis for coming to Horizon, and are so glad to have connections with the trade school community.
