Blood Drive

On Friday, January 26, 2018, Horizon Science Academy hosted our Spring Blood Drive. The Community
Blood Center serves 24 area hospitals with six of those hospitals located in Dayton Ohio. The
Community Blood Center began operation in September 1964 on South Main Street in Dayton. The
Community Blood Center was established to meet the growing demand for those in need in the Dayton
area. Each day up to seven mobile blood drives, indoor and outdoor, are scheduled to serve throughout
the Community Blood Center area.

With the help of our students, 23 units of blood was collected, donated, and supplied to the Community
Blood Center for those in need in the Dayton area. This was the second blood drive that Horizon Science
Academy hosted this school year. We are already scheduled for two blood drives for next year as well.
With one donation, up to three lives can be saved! We want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our
students who were brave enough to donate and save lives!
